Travel Designers unveils gift list service for wedding couples

Travel Designers will start a free, personalised gift list service in January.

The south London-based agency said it had been looking for ways to differentiate itself from competitors and to offer “old fashioned service”.

The gift list service is available for brides and grooms booking weddings and honeymoons with Travel Designers and its sister brand Honeymoon Designers, as well as for clients seeking holidays to celebrate anniversaries and landmark birthdays.

Clients can have personalised A6-sized gift list cards made with a picture and a message, along with a web address to the gift list page.

Guests can contribute anything that can be booked by Travel Designers, from spa treatments and excursions to helicopter rides.

There is also a surprise bonus for the couple as they are presented with a keepsake box with their tickets, containing with a photobook of messages, plus a bottle and chocolates.

Nick Harding-McKay, managing director, said: “Other gift list services are impersonal. I think we’re the only agency offering such personalisation.

“It’s a good way of marketing to couples getting married, but it is also good for getting our name out to their friends too – it shows we can do something different.

“Rather than discounting, it’s added value, and shows how we stand out.”

He emphasised that the end of the Kuoni partnership was amicable, and meant that the agency can offer a wider range of suppliers to clients.

“We will still work with Kuoni but this will mean more choice for our customers,” he added.

“We had a client focus group which helped to come up with the new strapline and hashtag #TrulyIndependent.”
