Shearings reintroduces domestic flights to Devon and Cornwall

Shearings Holidays is offering domestic flights for clients to go on tours in Devon and Cornwall in 2019.

The operator last featured flights to the southwest more than five years ago. It already offers domestic flights on a selection of trips in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.

Agents will now be able to book flights from airports including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast City and Manchester for customers who want to go on Shearings’ tours in the southwest, rather than taking the journey by road.

Tours in Torquay, Paignton and Exmouth are now offered via flights to Exeter airport and tours in Newquay, St Mawes and St Ives are available by flying into Newquay airport. Return transfers are provided to the tour hotel for clients to meet the rest of the group.

Shearings Holidays managing director Jane Atkins said clients in the north of England, northern Ireland or Scotland would now have an additional transport choice to join a four or seven night break in the southwest. She added: “Being able to offer agents the option of booking with flights allows them more flexibility.”

Adding flights allows customers to join any tour dates, irrespective of where it originates, unlike coach breaks which have set departure dates from set regions.

Flights to Exeter are offered from Belfast City; Edinburgh; Glasgow; Newcastle; Manchester and Norwich. Flights to Newquay are offered from Manchester; Birmingham and Gatwick.

The five-day Exmouth & Devon Delights tour is available from £391 on selected dates between May and September, including return flights, four nights’ half board at the Grand Hotel, Exmouth, transfers plus two coach excursions.
