Central England Co-op opens six former Thomas Cook stores

Central England Co-operative has opened six new travel stores as part of a £45,000 investment.

The new agencies are in Atherstone, Oakham, Ibstock, Castle Donington, Glenfield and Stirchley.

The openings comes after the society reached an agreement to transfer six travel branches from Thomas Cook earlier this year.

Paul Dale, head of specialist business at Central England Co-op, said: “Our teams were so excited to finally allow our members and customers to see our new-look travel stores.

“They look fantastic and already customers have been making many positive comments about how they look and the different products and services now available.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank customers for their patience during the refreshes and hopefully everyone will enjoy the revamped stores as much as we do.

“All of us here Central England Co-op Travel are proud to be part of such great communities and are looking forward to welcoming all customers to come and enjoy our new travel stores.”

As well as offering advice and competitively priced holidays the new stores will offer foreign exchange, a wide choice of tour operators and are part of Abta and the Atol protection regime.

Central England Co-operative is one of the largest independent retail co-operative societies in the UK.

The organisation employs over 8,000 staff, with the society’s principal areas of activity being food, funeral services, travel shops, and property investment.

The group has over 400 trading outlets across 16 counties including.
