Daniels steps up in Hurtigruten management shake-up

The Hurtigruten UK and EMEA senior team is being restructured with Anthony Daniels promoted.

The changes follow the departure of local managing director Magnus Zetterberg.

UK and Ireland head of sales Daniels steps up to incorporate the new role of UK general manager to his existing responsibilities.

He will lead the London office and UK operations.

A new position has also been created to lead an updated sales area of Europe, into which the UK, Nordics and EMEA will report.

Daniels, along with the head of sales from each European market, will report into the new sales area, which will be led by sales vice president, Europe, Heiko Jensen.

He has more than 20 years experience in the cruise sales industry and joined the Norwegian adventure cruise company in 2013.

Daniels joined Hurtigruten in 2015 and in that time has built the sales team outperforming targets and establishing wider recognition for the brand in the UK and Ireland, according to the company.

Chief commercial officer Asta Lassesen said: “We are delighted to appoint Anthony and Heiko to these new roles that we have created.

“We are confident they will both continue to deliver great results for Hurtigruten especially in the lead up to the launch of our first hybrid ship, the MS Roald Amundsen.

“We also want to take the time to say thank you to Magnus for his great work and dedication to making Hurtigruten a success in the UK and EMEA. We wish him all the best for his next adventure.”
