Enquiries for travel to Japan have more than doubled in the past three months, according to Kuoni.
The 123% rise in interest to the country coincided with Abta confirming that Tokyo will host its 2019 Travel Convention in October 2019.
The operator now aims to attract new to cruise passengers by collaborating with Regent Seven Seas Cruises to put on sale a cruise and stay itinerary combining a sailing in Japan with a small group escorted tour in China.
The 22-night itinerary combines Kuoni’s Essential China tour with a Regent Seven Seas Far East cruise.
Shore experiences include a scenic drive around Japan’s Ishigaki Island and a Kyoto highlights tour.
On the small group tour, an expert local guide will take travellers to the Great Wall of China and the Terracotta Warriors.
Prices lead in at £7,899 per person including an overnight stay in Hong Kong, seven nights touring China and a 12-night all-inclusive cruise, based on a departure on February 28, 2020.
