Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings reveals charity partner for 2019

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has chosen Southampton-based The Murray Parish Trust as its charity for 2019.

The Murray Parish Trust was set up by TV actress Sarah Parish and actor husband James Murray, in memory of their daughter Ella-Jayne who was a patient at University Hospital Southampton.

The charity aims to raise funds to advance paediatric emergency medicine.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings – the company which operates Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas – will hold fundraising events and initiatives throughout the year.

NCLH will provide auction prizes for the trust’s fundraiser The Odd Ball on November 17.

Regent Seven Seas is donating an 11-night cruise on board Seven Seas Voyager in the Mediterranean.

Sarah Parish revealed the NCLH’s decision on a visit to the cruise lines’ office in Southampton last month.

She said: “Being supported by such a prestigious and well-loved enterprise adds huge weight to our campaign.

“We feel more confident than ever that with their help our hospital will soon have the paediatric emergency and trauma department it so badly deserves.”

The trust, in partnership with Southampton Hospital Charity, has raised nearly £1,500,000 to build a new Children’s Emergency & Trauma Department at University Hospital Southampton.
