Club Med returns to Spain with new resort

Club Med is returning to Spain after an absence of 20 years with a new resort in Andalusia.

The 486-room Club Med Magna Marbella is due to open on August 3, 2019.

The new property was unveiled ahead of the all-inclusive operator putting summer its 2019 programme on sale on October 2.

A 15% early booking discount will apply across 26 resorts for the first two days of next year’s holidays going on sale. The price cut will be available on all departure dates, with children under six also able to stay for free without any exclusion dates.

The new Spanish property will be located a 20-minute walk from both Mediterranean beaches and Marbella city centre at the foot of the Sierra Blanca Mountains.

Set in 14 hectares of gardens, the resort will feature five swimming pools including a family waterpark and adult-only ‘Zen Zone’, children’s clubs for those aged from four months to 17 and activities ranging from hiking, archery and tennis, to petanque, flying trapeze and trail running.

Club Med is also introducing paddle tennis and a meditation area within the resort’s grounds for the first time. The resort will have two restaurants and three bars.

Club Med UK and Northern Europe managing director, Estelle Giraudeau, said: “We cannot wait to reintroduce the Club Med brand to Spain and know our customers in the UK market will love Club Med Magna Marbella which is situated close to both beautiful beaches and the bustling city centre.

“Perfect for a fun family summer holiday or a luxurious city break, Club Med Magna Marbella really does have something for everyone.”
