Clia focuses on themed voyages for new #ChooseCruise week

Clia is dedicating the fourth week of its #ChooseCruise campaign to voyages that have specific themes, from TV and music to cooking and wine tasting.

The #ChooseCruise campaign is running across the UK cruise industry throughout September, and globally across Clia member cruise lines in October.

The aim of the campaign is to highlight the different onboard experiences on offer through a holiday at sea or on a river ship.

Andy Harmer, Clia UK and Ireland director, said: “Themed cruises are becoming incredibly popular and with so many to choose from, you can be sure there’s a themed voyage that fits your interests.

“These days cruise guests can sing their hearts out on musical voyages, whip-up culinary creations under the watchful eye of a celebrity chef or even experience what it might be like to be part of their favourite TV show.

“Cookery cruises have come to the boil thanks to link-ups with the likes of Relais & Chateaux and input from celebrity chefs such as Marco Pierre White and Nobu Matsuhisa, along with a wave of ships boasting state-of-the-art show kitchens that host special cooking classes.

“Dance fans may cha-cha-cha their way through dedicated Strictly Come Dancing sailings where they can mingle with stars from the show.

“Walking Dead fans can meet their favourite actors as they succumb to a zombie apocalypse on a floating Walking Dead.

“And for an out-of-this-world experience, cruise guests can travel to the final frontier on Star Trek themed bashes.”

The #ChooseCruise initiative replaces the Plan a Cruise Month which has been run by Clia globally over the past two years.
