Norwegian to drop Singapore service

Norwegian is to drop its lone low fare route between the UK and Asia.

The airline confirmed today that the 13-hour flights between Gatwick and Singapore were being suspended in the new year.

The last Singapore service will operate on January 12.

The route started in October 2017 and is likely to be replaced next spring by a new service from Gatwick to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

A Norwegian spokesperson said: “We continually evaluate our global network to ensure that we operate routes in response to customer demand.

“We have taken the decision to no longer operate our Gatwick to Singapore service from 12th January 2019 and use this capacity elsewhere on our network.

“Customers who have booked to fly after this period will be offered alternative options to reach their destination or a full refund.”
