Passenger dies after needing medical attention on Jet2 flight

A passenger died in hospital after needing medical attention on a UK flight to Ibiza.

The Jet2 flight from Manchester diverted to Toulouse on Saturday evening due to the emergency.

An airline spokesman said that the aircraft landed at the French airport because a passenger, who has not been named, required medical attention.

“We can confirm that the customer has sadly passed away and we extend our sincere condolences to the customer’s family and friends at this difficult time,” he added.

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokeswoman said: “We are in contact with the French authorities following the death of a British man in Toulouse.

“We are supporting his family at this difficult time.”
