Wendy Wu Tours posts record revenue as it releases joint Asia and South America brochure

Wendy Wu Tours claims to have achieved record revenue figures to make 2018 the operator’s most successful year in its 20-year history.

The operator has seen growth of 75% over the past three years, with double-digit increases each year in revenue and passenger numbers.

The specialist recorded 26% year-on-year revenue growth in both 2017 and 2016. Revenue from the trade has more than doubled over the past four years.

The disclosure came as the operator released its first brochure combining Asia and South America for 2019.

With forward bookings reported to be up year-on-year, the company is offering business class flight upgrades across selected departures starting at £199 and free door-to-door transfers from home.

New programmes have also been issued for China, India, Japan and Southeast Asia as well as an expanded range of tour styles, which include:

• ‘Classic’ – see all the classic sights at a leisurely pace
• ‘Go Beyond’ – designed for those who want to venture off the beaten track with a more adventurous frame of mind
• ‘Private Tours’ – personals tour with a dedicated guide
• ‘Solo Tours’ – exclusively for customers travelling solo with their own room and no single supplement to pay.

The company declined to give specific numbers of revenues and carryings for this year.

However, global sales director John Warr said: “We’ve seen outstanding growth across Asia making 2018 a record-breaking year for revenue and passenger numbers, the best in our 20-year history.

“Bookings have soared, largely driven by our superior business class upgrades and VIP home transfers which are incredibly popular with our agents and customers.

“We’ve seen a substantial spike in travel to Japan, India and South America this year as well as considerable growth in solo travel.”

Warr added: “Over the years our collection has grown exponentially and so for the first time we’re launching a new definitive guide called ‘The Complete Collection’ featuring the best travel experiences across Asia and South America.

“It’s the ultimate guide to the best in travel all compiled in an easy-to-use, informative and stylish format.”
