New Washington route takes off from Stansted

Low cost Scandinavian carrier Primera Air has added a fourth transatlantic route from Stansted.

The carrier is flying to Washington Dulles airport five times a week.

New two-class Airbus A321neo aircraft are being deployed on the route wit free wi-fi and charging points for electronic devices.

The new service to the US capital joins long-haul routes to New York, Boston and Toronto introduced earlier this year.

Stansted aviation manager Mark Souter said: “We have made clear our ambition is to provide passengers with more choice and opportunities to travel long-haul from London Stansted, including more services to the USA and the addition of new routes to China and India, so the launch of this new service is another step towards delivering that goal.”
