G Adventures adds fifth ship to fleet operating in Galapagos

G Adventures has added a fifth yacht to its fleet of chartered vessels for the Galapagos Islands.

The 16-passenger Eden yacht will join the operator’s four other touring vessels in January 2019 after it goes into dry dock this autumn.

All five vessels host small groups on trips around the archipelago.

According to G Adventures, there was a 22% increase in global bookings of the operator’s marine-based tours through the Galapagos between 2016 and 2017.

Eden operates six itineraries, ranging from seven to 17 days, around the Galapagos.

G Adventures’ fleet now operates 32 itineraries following the addition of Eden.

Every G Adventures’ Galapagos departure was sold out between August 2017 to July 2018.

Eden offers three upper deck, twin-share cabins with bunk beds, one main deck double bed cabin, and four lower deck twin-share cabins.

There is also a two-level, wrap around deck with outdoor lounge area and sundeck, ideal for relaxation and wildlife spotting.

The ship, built in 1996, will also house accommodations for nine crew members, including a chef and expert naturalist as well as an interior dining room and living room with television and DVD for entertainment use.

Brian Young, G Adventures’ managing director, said: “We are continuing to see increased demand from our travellers looking to experience the Galapagos Islands and the addition of the Eden marks an exciting development for us to be able to meet this demand.”

Both agents and consumers can book Eden now.
