Largest hotel complex poised to open at Heathrow

Work is nearing completion on the largest hotel complex directly connected to a UK airport terminal.

A total of 761 bedrooms will be available at the pair of linked Heathrow Terminal 4 hotels.

The dual-branded Crowne Plaza London – Heathrow Terminal 4 and Holiday Inn Express London – Heathrow Terminal 4 will be a three-minute walk to the terminal building.

The two-year building project by Arora Group is due to be competed in October.

The Crowne Plaza will have 304 bedrooms and the Holiday Inn Express 457.

More than 100 car parking spaces will also be available.

The two hotels will operate under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group and will be managed by Arora Hotels, a division of the Arora Group.

They will join Arora’s airport hotel portfolio, which includes the Sofitel at Heathrow Terminal 5; Renaissance London Heathrow; Sofitel Gatwick and Hilton Gatwick.

Another addition will be Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow, situated in the central terminal area at the London hub, due to open early next year.

On completion of the project, the Arora Group will become the first company with hotels connected to all Heathrow and Gatwick terminals.

Andrew Brown, the opening general manager for the two Terminal 4 hotels, joined Arora Group in 2014 and was previously general manager at Macdonald Hotels, Q hotels, De Vere Group and Trust House Forte Group.

Arora Group strategy director Kaushal Niraula said: “We are delighted to be nearing completion on this fantastic project.
“Constructing hotels on such a scale in such close proximity to Europe’s busiest airport was a challenge, but we have a very experienced team and we are hugely proud of the achievement.

“The two new Terminal 4 hotels will be superbly positioned to cater to the leisure and business travel market.

“By 2019 the Arora Group will be the first company to serve all airport terminals at Britain’s two largest airports, Heathrow and Gatwick, which was used by a combined total of over 123 million passengers in 2017.”
