ATD boss plans Lake District charity swim

ATD Travel Services founder and CEO Oliver Brendon is to swim the third largest lake in Cumbria for charity.

He plans to dive into Coniston Water in the Lake District to swim 8.25km without a wetsuit.

The swim on September 1 is to raise funds for a new classroom at Nakawa pre-school in southern Zambia for The ATD Foundation.

The registered charity has already funded a borehole and latrines at the school which the children aged between three and seven years old walk up to 10km to attend.

“If you donate, the children will sing you a personalised song of thanks in their new classroom which I will video and make available on The ATD Foundation website in November,” Brandon said.
