Travel franchise firm targets 1,000 franchisees by 2020

The franchise recruitment arm of agency Not Just Travel aims to add 400 new franchisees over the next two years.

The Travel Franchise attracted more than 60 new franchisees in the last three months, putting the business on course to meet a target of 1,000 by 2020.

The growth has seen almost double the number of franchisees signed up in the first half of 2018 against the same period last year.

Founded by Steve Witt and Paul Harrison, The Travel Franchise now has more than 600 franchisees running own home-based travel consultancies.

The expansion is being supported by a 20% increase in head office staff.

The company has taken additional space at its headquarters near Bournemouth airport to accommodate its growing team and training sessions, where new franchisees learn the essentials of running a travel business.

Harrison said: “We have seen a very strong start to 2018 and are well-placed to meet our growth targets for 2020, hence the need to boost our head office team.

“We are extremely optimistic for the future. The travel industry is an exciting, fast-paced sector and we expect our growth to continue apace.”

He added: “We’re seeing a record number of people wanting to become entrepreneurs and be their own boss.

“Earlier this month, we held our first discovery day in Scotland, as we look to expand our franchise network even further.

“We have ambitious plans to grow our franchise network to 1,000 franchisees by 2020, providing opportunities for many more entrepreneurial individuals who are keen to start their own travel consultancy businesses.”
