Travelodge marks 30 years of London trading with three openings

Travelodge is marking 30 years of trading in London with a trio of hotel openings.

The three new budget hotels are located in Acton, Bromley and Dagenham, representing a collective investment of more than £35 million for third party investors and creating 80 new jobs.

London Acton and Dagenham Travelodges both feature the chain’s on-site Bar Café restaurant.

London Acton Travelodge also offers the company’s premium economy SuperRooms, introduced last year to give more than 1,000 across 24 hotels in the capital.

New flagship hotel, London City Travelodge, opens next month as the company’s largest new build development to date.

The 395-room hotel and restaurant close to Liverpool Street station represents an investment of £95 million and has created 100 new jobs.

London City Travelodge is also the launch pad for the company’s new ‘budget chic’ hotel concept called Travelodge Plus.

The four properties boost the Travelodge portfolio to 565 hotels and 75 in London.

UK property director Tony O’Brien said: “Over the last three decades, Travelodge has become famous across London for offering great value and making it affordable and accessible for business and leisure travellers to visit the Capital.

“We are delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary in London by not just opening three hotels in key growth areas, but also by opening our flagship hotel, London City Travelodge next month, which is our largest new build hotel to date.

“With these openings we will operate 75 hotels in the capital and offer more choice than ever before with our SuperRooms and Travelodge Plus hotels.”
