Qatar Airways unveils new private jet for executive division

The private jet charter division of Qatar Airways unveiled a new executive jet on the opening day of Farnborough Airshow yesterday.

The Gulfstream G500 is capable of flying non-stop from Istanbul to Cape Town, Los Angeles to London and San Francisco to Tokyo.

The G500 will be one of the fastest and most technologically advanced aircraft in the Qatar Executive fleet when it enters service later this year.

Qatar Executive currently operates a fleet of 13 Gulfstream and Bombardier private jets, including five Gulfstream G650ERs, three Bombardier Challenger 605s, four Global 5000s and one Global XRS aircraft.

The division expects to receive eight of 25 additional new aircraft it has on order between now and the end of 2019 as it continues to increase its global reach to new destinations.

Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: “We are tremendously excited to be unveiling our first Gulfstream G500 jet at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow.

“With its many advanced features, this ultra-modern aircraft will enable us to offer our global clientele unprecedented levels of service.

“The G500 also demonstrates our commitment to continuing to expand the Qatar Executive fleet, in line with our accelerated growth strategy.”
