Flight Centre appoints heads of marketing and partnerships

Flight Centre has appointed a new head of marketing and head of partnerships.

The agency chain says the recruitments are part of its ongoing “leisure transformation” which will see it repositions its focus from flight-only to tailor-made travel.

Yvonne Hobden has been hired as head of marketing and will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Flight Centre leisure business.

She has experience in the retail, technology and telecommunication sectors – having previously worked for Hewlett Packard and EE.

Liz Cairns has been promoted to the role of head of partnerships, where she will be responsible for Flight Centre’s relationships with partners and the primary point of contact for tourist boards, airlines and land suppliers.

Carins has been with Flight Centre for eight years and has 14 years’ experience in the travel industry.

She said: “My time at Flight Centre has enabled me to establish key and enduring relationships with all our main suppliers and tourist board partners and help devise all Flight Centre’s third-party land strategy. It is great to be putting this plan into action and leading as Head of Partnerships.”

Hobden added: “I’m delighted to be taking on a fresh challenge with Flight Centre and am focused on driving results and motivating teams to collaboratively deliver against strategic vision and goals.  I am passionate about travel, technology and music and will be putting this into practice in my role.”

Flight Centre has 80 stores in the UK and Ireland and 2,500 globally.
