Oman Air beefs up UK sales team

Oman Air has beefed up its UK sales team to help strengthen ties with travel agents.

Nick Beauchamp has joined from Icelandair as a sales executive having previously worked for First Choice, Tui and Air New Zealand.

He will be promoting the Gulf carrier through primary distribution channels and developing and account managing commercial agreements with top national accounts and global agencies.

Kamani Hewagama becomes office co-ordinator succeeding Lorraine Burns, who recently retired. Kamani has more than 20 years experience in the airline industry and previously worked at Sri Lankan Airlines and Emirates.

Oman Air interim UK and Ireland country manager Kelpesh Patel said: “We are delighted to announce these new appointments, which will enable us to strengthen our relationships with agents and provide them with greater support.

“Nick and Kamani both have extensive experience within the aviation industry and we look forward to working with them on building the business at Oman Air.”

The Muscat-based carrier continues to work on strategic expansion plans providing a streamlined global network, linking with routes worldwide.

Revenue rose by 24% in the first four months of the year, enabling the carrier to cut losses in the January to April period.
