Saga Cruises’ new ship to make first transatlantic sailing in time for Christmas 2019

Saga Cruises’ new ship Spirit of Discovery is to make its first transatlantic sailing in time to celebrate Christmas 2019.

The 35-night voyage departs from Southampton on December 5 next year with calls including the Caribbean, the US and Bermuda.

The 999-passenger ship will cruise along the US east coast from Key West to Miami and Cape Canaveral, together with Barbados and Dominica in the Caribbean.

Overnight stops are scheduled for New York followed by Bermuda to welcome in the new year.

Spirit of Discovery is due to enter service to replace Saga Pearl II in July 2019 and will be joined by sister ship Spirit of Adventure in 2020.

Prices for the Christmas and new year cruise start at £9,639 per person based on two people sharing a balcony cabin, including Wi-Fi and all gratuities on board.
