Travel 2 marketing director Alasdair Farrimond is leaving the company to take up a similar position with Tourism Australia.
The long-haul tailor-made specialist Travel 2 has appointed Charlie Bateson as its new head of marketing. Charlie, who was most recently head of web and direct marketing at Hays Travel and formerly director of marketing at Trailfinders, will take charge of the trade-only operator’s marketing and promotional function from March 23.
Stella Travel Services UK managing director Andrew Botterill said: “We have been working hard since the turn of the year to reinforce the trade credentials that Travel 2 is famous for and Charlie is committed to helping us push this initiative forward.
“His travel marketing experience, and knowledge of both the tour operator and agency environment should prove invaluable and we are delighted to welcome him aboard.
“That said, we’re also very sad to say goodbye to Alasdair. He has done an outstanding job for Travel 2 and leaves with our very best wishes.”
