BA halves number of Avios needed for long-haul reward flights

British Airways is slashing the number of Avios required to book reward long-haul economy flights in a limited-time offer.

More than 90 destinations are available for half the amount of Avios normally required.

Return flights to destinations like Bermuda can be obtained for 13,000 Avios, Seychelles for 16,250 and Hong Kong for 19,500, paying a cash amount on top of this to cover taxes, fees and carrier charges.

The number of Avios required to discount the cost of flights in the World Traveller cabin through Avios part payment has also been halved.

Travellers wanting to cut the cost of flights by using Avios part payment can pick from a range of savings based on destination and cabin, according to the airline.

Bookings must be made before June 17 for travel between September 1 and May 31, 2019.

James Hillier, from the BA Executive Club, said: “Our members appreciate a range of ways to collect and spend Avios so it’s great to be launching this promotion which makes reward flights even more accessible.

“This means that customers can go sandboarding in Dubai, spot stars in Los Angeles or visit Singapore’s Orchard Road for half the number of Avios normally required.”
