Club Med to open ‘5 trident’ resort in Dominican Republic

Club Med is to open a new resort in the Dominican Republic by winter 2019.

The new all-inclusive property will be the company’s first ‘5-Trident’ luxury resort in the Americas region when its starts accepting guests from December next year.

The 93-acre resort will create an “eco-conscious luxury experience” with intimate accommodation and an “eco-chic” atmosphere.

A boutique resort-within-a-resort concept will ensure guests receive a customised holidays tailored to their needs and interests, according to the operator.

Adult-only areas will feature together with children’s clubs for all ages from four months to 17 years and various sports facilities.

Currently referred to as Club Med Miches, Facebook users will be given the opportunity to vote for their preferred resort name with the result to be announced on Thursday.

Miches is in a palm grove situated about an hour from Punta Cana international airport.

Club Med UK and Northern Europe managing director Estelle Giraudeau said: “We’re delighted and very excited to be opening our first 5-Trident luxury resort in the Caribbean in December 2019.

“This is part of a wider expansion in our offering, as we are set to launch 13 new resorts over the next three years.

“It’s also a great initiative to invite the general public to vote for the name of one of our new resorts, we value our customer’s opinion and so we’re intrigued as to what the final name will be. We’re looking forward to introducing this tropical destination and its beautiful beaches to the UK market.”
