Travel Weekly award winner Perfect Weddings & Honeymoons has launched its own specialist tour operation.
The winners of the Midland Travel Trade Ball 2008 Most Innovative Agency, Helen Doyle and Danny Waine from Chasedown, Staffordshire launched Perfect Weddings Abroad this weekend.
The company will initially be selling direct to the public and through the Hays Travel Independence Group with ABTA and ATOL bonding provided by Hays Travel.
Managing director Helen Doyle said: "Coming from an agency background we appreciate the frustrations experienced when dealing with many tour operators and what we really want agents to know is that this operation is by agents for agents."
Three new full-time positions have been created in the company's head office with further staff lined-up to join later in the year. The company is also expanding its homeworking network which it expects to exceed ten by the end of 2009.
Marketing director Danny Waine said "It's imperative nowadays that you have multi-channel distribution, there's certainly no one-size fits all, particularly in the weddings market."
The business has the backing and a private cash injection of £100,000 from On Holiday Group boss Steve Endacott , Gold Medal Travel managing director Terry Fisher, Comtec chief executive Simon Powell and Travel Counsellors boss David Speakman. All four have become shareholders but the business is majority-owned by the founders Doyle and Waine.
