Seabourn took delivery of its newest ship Seabourn Ovation today during an official handover ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy.

The 600-passenger vessel is the fifth ship in the line’s fleet and will be christened in Valletta, Malta on May 11. Actresses and singer, Elaine Paige, will serve as godmother.

Ovation will spend most of her maiden season in northern Europe and sail a series of seven-day Baltic and Scandinavia cruises between Copenhagen and Stockholm, which will includes a three-day stay in St. Petersburg. The new ship will also sail on longer 14-day voyages, visiting the Norwegian fjords and British Isles.

The ship’s interiors have been designed by acclaimed hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany.

President of Seabourn Richard Meadows said: “We are delighted to take delivery of Seabourn Ovation, offering yet another reason for luxury travellers around the world to choose us for their next holiday.

“It has been an incredible journey to see the ship come to life, and the Fincantieri team has done a fantastic job in the construction of the ship. The combination of Adam Tihany’s design vision and Fincantieri’s fine craftsmanship have resulted in yet another stunning creation. We are very proud to welcome her to the Seabourn family.”
