Jet2holidays to employ data analyst to monitor trade sales and trends

Jet2holidays is to recruit a ‘trade sales analyst’ who will use data and statistics to monitor and help boost sales through independent travel agents.

The new role within the operator’s trade sales team has been created to identify areas and products in which agents could improve so they can receive additional support.

Sales data will be analysed to see which agents are struggling to sell ancillaries, for example, or those that are not hitting targets for Jet2holidays’ premium Indulgent Escapes holidays.

The trade sales analyst will work with the rest of the operator’s on-the-road sales team to offer ways to improve.

The analyst will filter bookings data to assess sales of specific hotels as well as certain Jet2holidays brands.

Alan Cross, head of trade at Jet2holidays, said he was looking for someone highly skilled in data analysis but also with a level of industry experience. The new recruit will report to trade general manager Craig Davidson.

Cross said: “The creation of this trade sales analyst role is yet another investment in our partnership approach.

“It enables us to take sales and performance data from our agency partners so that they can identify trends, strengths and opportunities and go on to enjoy even greater sales success with us.

“It could be anything from how promotions perform through to the selling of ancillaries.

“But underneath it all, the fundamental reason for this investment is so that our independent agency partners can easily understand and act on the data and trends that their businesses are generating.

“We believe it will make them even more agile and alive to sales opportunities so that they can grow their businesses.”

The new role will increase Jet2holidays’ trade sales team to 17 people.
