BA reveals 750,000 passengers have used First Wing check-in area during its first year

More than 750,000 passengers have used British Airways’ First Wing channel at Heathrow Terminal 5 since opening a year ago.

The exclusive check-in area for First, Gold Executive Club and Oneworld Emerald passengers enables travellers to pass through a dedicated security channel leading directly into the First lounge.

The initiative has also reduced the number of passengers travelling through the normal security search areas.

BA is re-designing its Terminal 7 in New York to create a new and improved First check-in area, drawing inspiration from The First Wing at Heathrow.

Brand and customer experience director Carolina Martinoli said: “Since we opened The First Wing last year the feedback from customers has been incredibly positive.

“They really value the smooth and swift experience from check-in through security and into the lounge.”
