Sapphire Princess heads to UK after two-week refit in Singapore

Princess Cruises’ newly revamped ship Sapphire Princess is heading to its summer base in the UK after a two-week refit in Singapore.

The 2,670-passenger vessel will sail out of Southampton this year and in summer 2019.

The refurbishment includes enhanced on board spaces, improved shops and the installation of a giant LED screen in the theatre.

New beds will be added to every cabin by June, including enhanced mattress support and a king-size deluxe pillow available with feathers or anti-allergy microfibre.

Sapphire Princess will sail from Southampton from May to October followed by an April to October season next year.

Itineraries largely cover the Mediterranean and northern Europe, as well as a 24-day Canada and New England voyage in 2019.

Princess Cruises’ vice president UK and Europe Tony Roberts said: “The timing of Sapphire Princess’ refit is perfect for UK guests and we now look forward to welcoming her to our shores both this year and in 2019.

“UK guests looking to recharge their batteries are in for a real treat as our luxury bed offers the ultimate night’s sleep on board.

“Meanwhile, the additional enhancements mean guests can take advantage of a wealth of upgraded on board options, from indulging in some retail therapy, to enjoying the spa, to unwinding in a yoga class.”
