Manchester airport expects 160,000 departures during ‘Easter getaway’

The Easter getaway will see more than 160,000 passengers fly from Manchester airport.

The most popular destinations from the UK’s third busiest airport are Tenerife, Amsterdam, Alicante, Dublin, Malaga and Dubai.

The Easter long weekend heralds the start of the airport’s summer season as its prepares for the busiest year on record.

New destinations being introduced from Manchester include Seattle by Thomas Cook Airlines.

The northern gateway will reach a major milestone this summer when its marks its 80th anniversary in June.
