Scenic and Emerald Waterways has become the 25th supplier member of The Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation.

The river cruise operator specialises in escorted touring, with itineraries offered to Australia, New Zealand, the Americas, Africa and southeast Asia. This year it announced its first six-star ocean cruising ship Scenic Eclipse.

Head of sales UK Angela Sloan said:Tipto has long been on our radar as a fantastic way for us to further support and work with agents, and we are thrilled to become their 25th member.

“We look forward to making the most of all Tipto has to offer, from the fun and educational events to the online training modules to develop knowledge of our two brands, Scenic and Emerald Waterways, as well as Scenic Eclipse which launches later this year.”

National sales manager Dawn Quinn said the Tipto roadshows would allow the operator to reach more independent agents. She added: “Agents are such an important area of our business and we continually strive to ensure they are well supported with the right knowledge and have access to key educational tools that enable them to better sell our holidays.”

Tipto chairman Jane Atkins welcomed the new member, saying: “We are confident that the TIPTO event format will help the team achieve their main aim of revolutionising the way they support agents – our face to face events offer a truly unique opportunity to develop brand new agent relationships whilst cementing those that are already in place.”
