G Adventures relaunches its Wanderers programme

G Adventures has recruited a team of 18 international bloggers to tell ‘digital stories’ about its trips.

The decision marks a relaunch of the operator’s ‘Wanderers programme’ which was dropped just over a year ago, at the end of 2016, while the company restructured its marketing team globally.  Previously the team consisted of five bloggers, mainly from the US.

The 18 renowned travel bloggers have been picked from the operator’s key international markets, the UK, central Europe, US, Canada and Australia to tailor content for consumers from different countries. They will be tasked with inspiring readers to find out more about small group, adventure travel as a way of discovering destinations and using channels such as Instagram and Twitter to give on-trip commentary.

The operator also hopes the bloggers will highlight its socially responsible practices such as animal, indigenous and child welfare while visiting some of G Adventure’s portfolio of more than 100 countries.

Among the 18 bloggers are founder members of the Wanderers programme, Audrey Scott and Daniel Noll, the responsible travel experts behind the website Uncornered Market, and Gary Arndt, photographer and author of website Everything Everywhere.

The operator is also inviting other bloggers and other ‘influencers’ who are keen to promote travel that makes a difference to join its affiliate pgoramme or host a private group tour with their followers.

G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip believes social media allows the travel industry to have a voice to educate and bring about change.

He said: “The internet and social media have changed the way we see the world. We have a louder voice than ever before, and these influential storytellers and passionate travellers have strong platforms to communicate the positive impact travel can have.

“I believe travel can be the fastest path to peace, and the greatest distributer of wealth the world has seen. I’m thankful to have this team working with us to help spread these messages. Our Wanderers have each proven themselves to be bold, experienced travellers, and we can’t wait to welcome them on our trips and to have them share their stories with their fans and followers.”

The operator plans to add new members to the Wanderers programme over time and more information on it can be found at gadventures.com/wanderers
