Liverpool John Lennon airport agrees Rugby League team partnership

Liverpool John Lennon airport is to heighten its profile in a deal with Rugby League side Widnes Vikings.

The commercial partnership will see the airport secure branding opportunities across the Vikings stadium, print and digital channels.

This includes the home and away dugouts, as well as prime TV advertising positions within the stadium.

The airport will also have a branding presence at team press conferences and player video interviews.

Airport aviation development dirrector Paul Winfield said: “This is a great opportunity to support and work with our nearest Rugby League team and to highlight to supporters the great range of holidays and city breaks available direct from Liverpool, all with the added convenience of being just 20 minutes away from the home of Widnes Vikings.”

Vikings commercial and community director Richard Munson said: “The airport is an illustrious brand that is well recognised for its quality, so we are proud to welcome them to our commercial family.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to promote the airport to the Rugby League community through our match day, print and digital output this season.”
