Aurora Expeditions appoints Craig Upshall as UK and Europe sales director

Craig Upshall is leaving Rocky Mountaineer to join Aurora Expeditions as UK and Europe sales director.

He has been Europe, Middle East, India and Africa business manager for the Canadian tourist rail service for seven years.

Upshall previously worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and held senior roles with Island Cruises and American Airlines.

He will work alongside newly appointed North America sales director Edith Beaudoin as Aurora Expeditions gears up for the introduction of new purpose-built expedition ship Greg Mortimer for the 2019-20 Antarctic season.

Both join the company next month.

Managing director Robert Halfpenny said: “For more than 25 years we’ve been driven by a pioneering spirit, and we’ve always chosen the best people to help us do it.

“We warmly welcome Craig and Edith to our team and look forward to setting a new standard for expedition cruising globally while continuing to provide the authentic, small group adventures that we are known for.”

Beaudoin joins with ten years of international travel trade experience holding sales roles in North America. Most recently, she has spent the past year in Nicaragua assisting a not-for-profit tourism organisation.

Halfpenny added: “I’ve had the good fortune to have worked with both Edith and Craig in the past. They both possess the Aurora pioneering spirit and will be a perfect fit for our team.”
