Atlantis, The Palm to open social media suite

Dubai hotel Atlantis, the Palm has launched what it has dubbed the world’s first social media suite for its Facebook fans.

The room, with views of The Palm Island, will be adapted so guests can log in to Facebook as they enter and choose to share their experiences live on the platform – even from the bathroom mirror.

Guests can also ‘poke’ a personal butler using an intercom system in the room, which features a chair in the shape of a Facebook thumbs up.

Other amenities such as bath soaps, flip flops and shaving kits depict famous social media slogans.

The hotel recently reached the milestone of one million Facebook fans.

They will be given the option to book a free night’s stay in the Atlantis Fan Suite, which opens on March 18. Bookings will be taken every day until December.

All guests to the Atlantis Fan Suite will receive additional VIP amenities and experiences including unlimited complimentary access to The Lost Chambers Aquarium and waterpark Aquaventure, VIP check in, access to the Imperial Club lounges and a personal concierge service, use of the exclusive Imperial Club Beach, plus much more.

Ravini Perera, senior vice president, sales, marketing and PR, said: “It has been such an achievement to reach the one million fan mark on Facebook and we felt now was the time to give back and say thank you to all of our fans for their continuous support and for sharing their content with us over the years.

“We hope that our fans enjoy the Atlantis Fan Suite as much as we’ve enjoyed and valued their content and ongoing support.”

Atlantis, The Palm’s social media platforms receive an average of 2,500 posts tagging the resort every week and 147,762 uses of the #AtlantisThePalm hashtag every year.

The UK is fourth in the list of markets its social media fans come from, behind UAE, India and Pakistan.
