Ryanair cancels flights and warns of further delays

Ryanair warned of further flight delays and cancellations at airports today and tomorrow due to the ongoing winter storm.

All flights to and from East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports have been cancelled for the remainder of the day.

The Irish low-cost carrier cancelled a number of flights from Dublin today and tomorrow while all flights from Cork and Kerry airports have been grounded for the rest of Thursday.

“We are doing everything we can to re-accommodate customers and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by these disruptions which are entirely outside of our control,” the airline said.

The warning came as airports battled with blizzards to try and remain operational.

About 50 out of 350 flights due to depart from Gatwick were cancelled.

Glasgow airport is shut until at least 3pm while Edinburgh was closed until midday.

Many flights at Heathrow were suspended due to adverse weather while multiple cancellations were reported at London City airport.
