Peter Sommer Travels wins Aito Tour Operator of the Year 2017 award

Peter Sommer Travels has won Aito Tour Operator of the Year 2017 after receiving the highest scoring consumer reviews and the best Net Promoter Score.

The tour operator scored 100% on all customer reviews on the Association of Independent Tour Operator’s website, as did silver winner Expert Africa and bronze winner Absolute Escapes.

To determine an overall winner, Aito had to assess each company’s Net Promoter Scores on feedback to the question, ‘would you recommend this company to your family, friends or colleagues?’ in which Peter Sommer again scored 100%.

In total there were 23 companies in with a chance of winning. Operators had to have more than 50 customer reviews to qualify.

Executive director Kate Kenward said: “The Aito Tour Operator of the Year awards were particularly hotly contested this year, with very little to separate the top three companies; each is at the top of its game.  I commend all winners and entrants for their attention to detail and the quality and delivery of their customer experience.”

Aito chairman Derek Moore added: “Such high scores are astonishing in an industry where problems crop up due to the unpredictable nature of travel.”

The Portuguese National Tourist Office was awarded gold for the 2017 Aito Affiliate Tourist Board of the Year, providing members with the best service and support, followed by the Spanish Tourist Board and the Jordan Tourism Board.

For the 2017 Aito Affiliate Business Partner of the Year, MB Law came top, followed by Vamoos, second. Three companies all received the same score to receive bronze: Faremine; Travel & General  and Marketing Radar.
