Philippine Airlines sees surge in UK bookings during January

Philippine Airlines reported an 87% leap in January bookings in the UK over the same month last year

A winter sale on flights from London launched in December contributed to a “substantial” sales increase, according to the carrier.

The availability discounts has now been extended until the end of February with return economy fares to Singapore via Manila starting at £429.

The increased demand follows the airline raising capacity from Heathrow with the introduction of 370-seat Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on its route to Manila last September and frequency raised to a daily service in December.

The top-performing destinations are London to Manila, Denpasar in Bali, Cebu, Hong Kong and Sydney.

UK and Ireland country manager David Cochrane said: “Not only have customers been attracted to the increased facilities and service levels offered by the new B777-300ER aircraft, but Philippine Airlines ticket prices are fantastically competitive.

“The resumed daily service and reconfigured 2018 timetables have improved onward connections, significantly providing travel time savings for passengers originating in London travelling across Asia and beyond.

“For the next six months, the airline is seeing very strong demand, for Bali, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan.”
