Alpine sports specialist Ski Solutions has hailed the start of the ski season as the best in living memory after seeing a record-breaking start to January.
The firm, which secured a £6 million investment from Mobeus Equity Partners last September, said it is on track to increase full year revenues by 18%.
Craig Burton, managing director of Ski Solutions, said the firm has seen a late surge for its ski programme, as well as its summer cycling and walking holidays.
“The second week of January saw group trading 21% ahead of the same period last year, comfortably breaking all-time records as our biggest ever sales week,” he said.
Ski Solutions said the 2017/18 ski season has seen one of the best starts in recent memory.
Despite some operational challenges due to there being too much snow at times, it said conditions in the Alps “couldn’t be better”.
The firm has seen many skiers and boarders are returning to book second and third trips to take advantage of the ‘once in a lifetime’ conditions.
The amount of snow coverage that has fallen means that there is likely to be good coverage this year into March and April.
But Burton said it was not just the firm’s ski programme that was selling well.
He said: “Bookings with Ski Solutions activities brands, BSpoke and Cycling for Softies are up 30% on prior year, fuelled by further product growth in to new regions, with over 40 new cycling and walking tours added to the programme in popular destinations such as coastal Portugal and Provence.”
