Fed up Ryanair passenger forces way out of aircraft

A Ryanair passenger reportedly forced his way out of an emergency exit after getting fed up with waiting to disembark after a flight from the UK to Spain.

The Polish man waited on the wing of the aircraft with his hand luggage on the tarmac at Malaga airport.

He was eventually talked into getting back on board by ground staff and held until he was arrested by local police.

The 57-year-old man was said to have been frustrated after the flight was delayed by almost an hour leaving Stansted on New Year’s Day.

Passengers were then reportedly left waiting another 30 minutes to disembark when they arrived at around 11pm.

Video footage taken by another passenger shows the man setting his hand luggage down before perching on the wing’s edge as a number of people can be heard laughing in the background.

The Daily Mail spoke with two other passengers on board the flight. One said it was “surreal” when the man activated the emergency exit, announcing: “I’m going via the wing”.

But it also quoted another passenger, Raj Mistry, who said the man had been suffering from asthma and was struggling to breathe.

A Ryanair spokesman described the incident as an “airport security breach”.

“Malaga airport police immediately arrested the passenger in question and since this was a breach of Spanish safety and security regulations, it is being dealt with by the Spanish authorities,” he said.
