Tui offers students ‘earn while you learn’ degree

Tui has launched a degree-level apprenticeship which will allow young students to learn while working on a rotation basis for the travel company.

The four-year degree in business and management at the University of Hertfordshire offers modules in digital marketing, management and leadership.

Alongside their studies, students will work for the tour operator in a variety of roles including in its airline, Tui Airways, commercial functions and business change.

Nick Longman, managing director of Tui UK and Ireland, believes the degree will give 18-year-olds wanting the skills to have a career in the travel industry “a huge advantage”.

He said: “The degree will enable young people to kick-start their career at 18. At the end of the four years, they will have experienced every aspect of the business, received mentoring by our senior managers and completed a degree.”

Tui hopes to find the “next future business leaders” for its company from the course.

“Studying and working at the same time will be hard work,” Longman added. “We’re looking for people with a real determination and drive to succeed.”

Students completing the degree will receive 25 on campus learning days to help complete assignments and projects.

To gain a place on the course, students must have a GCSE in English Language and Mathematics at grade C or above plus other criteria.

Applications are now open.
