First Welsh Virgin Holidays store opens in Cardiff

The first Virgin Holidays travel store in Wales has opened in Cardiff.

The £450,000 outlet at St David’s Shopping Centre has created ten new jobs.

The 1,213 square foot Cardiff v-room is designed in the style of an airport lounge to provide a relaxing environment for customers.

Features include a virtual reality Las Vegas-style rollercoaster, a free bar serving cocktails, a children’s play area and a selection of Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class and premium economy seats.

Virgin Holidays’ managing director Joe Thompson said: “Holidays are some of the most precious moments we share with loved ones, and we want to immerse customers in that feeling from the moment they set foot inside our v-room.

“Our new store helps inspire customers by bringing the sights, sounds and tastes of their holiday to Cardiff.

“We know today’s customers expect much more than a package holiday – they want a unique experience.

“Our expert team in Cardiff can tailor each trip by combining our worldwide network of hotels and flights with over 300 experiences including helicopter rides, personal shopping trips, surfing lessons, and safaris.”

Virgin Holidays now has 11 v-room high street stores across the UK, as well as concessions in department stores – including House of Fraser Cardiff, and Debenhams in Swansea.

The company now employs 15 full time Virgin Holidays staff across Wales.
