George Best Belfast airport scoops sustainability award

The environmental manager at George Best Belfast City airport has been recognised for her contribution to environmental sustainability.

Laura Duggan received an award from Business in the Community Northern Ireland.

Environmental benchmarking survey results saw the airport receive gold status for the fourth consecutive year.

Duggan won the accolade for passion and commitment to improving environmental performance both within the airport and in the wider company.

Airport human resources and corporate responsibility director Michelle Hatfield said: “Laura often goes beyond the call of duty in providing support and guidance about environmental issues to our staff and community partners.

“Our award-winning community commitment plan helps us to focus on four key strategic priorities – community, education, environment and people.

“Corporate responsibility is very much at the heart of our business and our employees are truly passionate about their commitment to making a difference.”
