Flybe expands Cardiff network with Venice flights

Flybe is expanding its network from Cardiff airport next summer with the addition of flights to Venice.

The summer-only service will run twice a week with one-way fares starting at £34.99.

Flights start on March 27 and will be available until September 9, with departures timed to suit the needs of passengers joining cruises in Venice.

The addition of the Italian city brings the regional carrier’s summer schedule up to 17 routes from the Welsh airport with up to 75 flights a week.

Flybe interim chief commercial officer, Ronnie Matheson, said: “We are pleased to offer passengers this brand new route to Venice as part of our 2018 Summer schedule.

“It boosts further the large selection of flights to great city and sun destinations available from our popular Cardiff base.

“The ongoing success of our services from Cardiff airport reflects Flybe’s commitment to listening and responding to the needs of our customers, who are increasingly enjoying the time and cost-saving convenience of travelling from their own regional airport.”

Airport chief executive, Deb Barber, added: “There’s no place quite like Venice. It offers miles of waterways, cobbled streets and hidden gems located on every corner. And, while it’s the ideal romantic destination, it’s also a very useful access point for cruise customers across the region.”
