Wendy Wu Tours marks ‘outstanding growth’ with cash handout for staff

Wendy Wu Tours has handed out £50 to each member of staff to celebrate a second year of “outstanding growth”.

The tour operator gave out £3,200 in total to its 64 staff. Each £50 was presented inside a Chinese red lantern (pictured).

Forward sales are 47% up for the operator, based on new global transformation targets set two years ago. The news comes as the operator launches its largest collection of new brochures for 2018-2019, including a new Immerse Yourself range of holidays.

Company founder Wendy Wu said: “Our team have worked so hard to achieve this record-breaking result. Everyone has put in long hours, displaying incredible commitment to making this happen. I am immensely proud of my team.”

Wu has also become one of five women to be inducted to the Association of Women Travel Executives’ ‘influential women in travel’ list alongside Barbara Kolosinska, from C&M Recruitment, Lisa McAuley from Silversea Cruises, Joanna Kolatsis, from Hill Dickinson, and Jeannette Linfoot, from Saga. Awte started the ’60 for 60′ list on its 60th anniversary three years ago.

Wendy Wu Tours also received an award from the China National Tourism Administration for Outstanding Contribution to the Year of Tourism for China and Australia.
