Pandaw to launch new vessel in 2019

Pandaw will launch a new ship in 2019 which will sail the Mekong River.

The double decked vessel will be named RV Sabei Pandaw and become the luxury river cruise line’s 17th vessel.

It will launch in September 2019.

The 45-metre long ship has been designed to shoot rapids in the Laos gorges and travel year round across Yunnan into China.

Sabei will have 12 classic Pandaw staterooms and an open plan saloon with flexible indoor or outdoor dining.

It will sail one itinerary – The Mekong: From Laos To China calling at Thailand and Burma. Highlights include a visit to Luang Prabang in norther Laos, visits to tribal villages and national parks.

Itineraries went on sale last week.

Prices start from £5,098 based on twin-share. The price includes entrance fees, guide services, gratuities, main meals, locally made soft drinks, local beer and local spirits, tea, coffee and transfers.

Pandaw was the first to open luxury river expeditions in Laos in 2015 and added a second ship last year extending the programme from Laos to Thailand to continue to China.

Vice president sales and marketing, Marco Rosa, said: “We have seen considerable demand for Laos and this current year both our ships are more-or-less full. This new vessel will really help satisfy that demand.”
