A man has been arrested on suspicion of preparation of acts of terrorism at London Southend Airport.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command apprehended the 49-year-old on Tuesday
He was taken to a south London police station, where he remains in police custody – held under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Officers have also searched an address in Essex in relation to the incident.
The Met said enquiries are ongoing.
