Japan Airlines announces second daily Heathrow-Tokyo service

Japan Airlines is to operate a second daily non-stop service between Heathrow and Tokyo Haneda airport.

The new frequency will strengthen the airline’s network to and from Europe through connections with Oneworld alliance partner British Airways at the London hub.

The second daily service will run from October 29 using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

JAL said: “The second London service, with the earliest arrival times in both directions, will provide customers with more options travelling to London and beyond, as well as also increase connection opportunities in Tokyo for the reverse route.

“As the new service will depart from Haneda after midnight and arrive Heathrow the same day in the early morning, customers will be able to use both the day before departure and after arrival to the fullest; plus smooth, convenient flight connections will be possible both ends of their journey.

“JAL will provide customers with more travel convenience, and comfort by creating a favourable environment for sleep in the cabin of JAL Sky Suite configured aircraft.

“The departure time from Heathrow will be in the morning and arrival time into Haneda will be early morning of the next day.

“Customer choice will be greatly enhanced, as both new flights offer completely different departure and arrival timings to JAL’s existing service between the two countries.”
