Back-Roads appoints general manager and unveils ‘sneak-peek’ deals

Back-Roads Touring has announced the appointment of a new global general manager.

Daryl Raven joined the small group specialist earlier this year having previously held roles with Tourism Holdings and Magic Travellers Network in his native New Zealand, and ICEF in Germany.

He said: “I’m excited to be working with such a strong team and high-quality product – creating, selling and delivering the tours that have made such a positive impact on thousands of passengers over the last 30 years.

“I look forward to driving the expansion of the Back-Roads Touring offering, as well as expanding the product in line with market demand to meet our aggressive growth targets over the next five years”.

Janine Salame, global managing director, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Daryl to the team, as his strategic leadership background and tourism experience will extend the efficacy of our existing operations.”

Back-Roads Touring has also announced an Exclusive Sneak Peek Special, with savings of up to £599 per couple on some of the company’s most popular tours ahead of the full 2018 UK & Europe product launch later this summer.

The deal will be on sale until August 21, with nine tours available with a 10% discount.

Lockie Kerr, UK & Ireland sales manager said: “At Back-Roads, we take pride in veering off the beaten path, providing unique local experiences that provide travellers with a sense of discovery while on holiday.

“From enjoying the culinary excellence at Rick Stein’s signature seafood restaurant and sipping world-class wines in Tuscany, to touring Scotland’s enigmatic castles or cruising the Duoro River by Rabelo in Portugal, the tours on offer feature many local inclusions that epitomise the Back-Roads difference.
