Kuoni relaunches Worldwide College agent training programme

Kuoni is relaunching its popular Worldwide College agent training programme with six events and the chance to win one of six places on a fam trip to the Maldives.

There will be day and evening events in London, Birmingham and Manchester focusing on the Indian Ocean, with up to 300 places available in total.

The announcement comes as the operator releases its new Indian Ocean & Arabia brochure, which features Qatar for the first time and nine new resorts.

The events will involve workshops on key destinations including the Maldives, Sri Lanka, the Seychelles, Mauritius and Reunion, as well as presentations from Universal Resorts and Sun Resorts.

The day events will be targeted at homeworkers, while the evening sessions will be for retail staff.

Head of trade sales Brad Bennetts said the training was being reintroduced after four years following agent demand.

“In the last year and a half we’ve had massive engagement with the trade,” he said. “We want to invest in the trade and be there to support them. So this is part of that re-engagement journey.

“Worldwide College was one of the most well-established and comprehensive training programmes around, so we’ve taken an opportunity to bring it into the 21st century.

“We don’t want ‘death by PowerPoint’ so we’ve made these sessions interactive and creative so they’re memorable for agents.”

Agents will also be asked to take part in a questionnaire on the destination and the top-scoring participant will win a place on the fam trip in September.
Worldwide College is being trialled with a view to rolling out more destinations next year.

The first event takes place in Manchester at the King Street Townhouse on July 10, followed by events at Canalside at The Cube in Birmingham on July 20 and The Shard in London on July 31.
